Jormungandr is the enormous world serpent, which by the legends was tossed into the ocean by Odin. Finding safety and plethora of food in the ocean’s waters, Jormungandr has grown so big that he managed to coil around the land and grasp its own tail with its jaws. In Norse mythology, this serpent biting his own tail is another iconography of cycle of eternity, and once Jormungandr releases its tail, the eternity shall end and the end of all worlds, Ragnarok, shall begin.

The Nordic runes of Elder Futhark are fabled to be discovered by Odin the All-father when he hung himself from the world tree Yggdrasil in his daring bid to gain wisdom through sacrifice. Each of these runes are claimed to have mystical beneficial properties, and are closely associated with Norse magic, religion, and poetry.

19th Wedding anniversary - Bronze

My wife absolutely LOVES it- the traditional gift for your 19th Wedding anniversary is bronze, and when I explained about Jormungandr symbolising Ragnarök ('I will love you until the end of the world' is the ultimate message, obviously), she just about melted. Thanks so much for making her so happy- she nearly cried!
